Fished the Cave Saturday

Had a chance to get on the water a few hours on Saturday.  Didn't put in until about noon and fished the shallow coves hoping to find some fish up interested in rattlebaits. Cold water temps made it tough, barely 40 degrees, but this time of year the smaller males move up first to the shallows and it is usually pretty fun getting them to go on rattlebaits. Me and a buddy fished the shallow coves and managed to get one Sub around 26 inches and had another that size grab a rattlebait at boatside but not get stuck.  Not too exciting of a day, but it sure did a world of good to break my cabin fever. LOL  I was glad to see the water level up higher this year as opposed to being much lower last year.  Hopefully with some good rains over the next few weeks we will have enough water in the hollers to make the "rattlebait bite" a good one this year when the warm temps arrive.  Hey Mike, see you guys in Columbus at the Musky Show.  Me and Dave Johnson are heading up for the Show on Saturday.  Later,
